[The following verses are from David’s prayer of Pardon and Cleansing (Psalms 51:1-17), written after Nathan the prophet had informed him of God’s judgment against him for his adultery with Bathsheba, and his subsequent murder of Uriah, her husband. See 2 Samuel 11 – 12:23:]
Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your loving kindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin… Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow… Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit… For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us for our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His loving kindness toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. Like a father has compassion on his children, So Yahweh has compassion on those who fear Him. For He knows how we are made. He remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103:8-14 (WEB)

But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father who is in Heaven. For He makes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don't even the tax collectors do the same?" Matthew 5:43-46 (WEB)

Tejon Hillside"In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Here they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. Seeing their faith Jesus said to the paralytic, "Take courage, my child; your sins are pardoned… But, to prove to you that the Son of Man has authority on earth to pardon sins"--He then says to the paralytic, "Rise, and take up your bed and go home." And he got up, and went off home. Matthew 9:2, 6-7 (WNT)
"Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in that which is to come." Matthew 12:31-32 (WEB)
[In the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant, Jesus teaches us about the Kingdom of Heaven. The first servant owes his master a vast amount of money, the rough equivalent to millions of dollars in today’s money.  We, you and I, are that servant. Our debts—our sins—are very great in the eyes of God, our Master, and we can’t make up for them. God knew that we were incapable of paying our debts back, and that’s why Jesus died for all of us. Jesus’ sacrifice was greater than all of our sins, past, present and future. God’s gift of mercy and forgiveness is also vast, He abundantly forgives, and when we approach Him through Jesus we can rest assured our sins are forgiven. We, in turn, must forgive our fellow man who have sinned against us, because we have been forgiven so much. We should forgive in like proportion. If believers have been forgiven all, then we should be willing to forgive all, in the spirit of gratitude for the grace and mercy that’s been shown to us.]
Then Peter, drawing near to Him, said: "Lord, how many times shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Even seven times?"
     Jesus said to him,
"I do not say to you, even seven times, but even seventy times seven times. Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven is compared to a man who was king, who wanted to take account of his servants. And when he had begun taking account, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. But since he did not have any way to repay it, his lord ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children, and all that he had, in order to repay it.
"But that servant, falling prostrate, begged him, saying, 'Have patience with me, and I will repay it all to you.' Then the lord of that servant, being moved with pity, released him, and he forgave his debt.
"But when that servant departed, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him one hundred denarius. And taking hold of him, he choked him, saying: 'Repay what you owe.' And his fellow servant, falling prostrate, petitioned him, saying: 'Have patience with me, and I will repay it all to you.' But he was not willing. Instead, he went out and had him sent to prison, until he would repay the debt.
Stained Glass Faith Hath Made Thee Whole    "Now his fellow servants, seeing what was done, were greatly saddened, and they went and reported to their lord all that was done. Then his lord called him, and he said to him: 'You wicked servant, I forgave you all your debt, because you pleaded with me. Therefore, should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I also had compassion on you?' And his lord, being angry, handed him over to the torturers, until he repaid the entire debt.
"So, too, shall my heavenly Father do to you, if each one of you will not forgive his brother from your hearts."
Matthew 18:21-35 (CPDV)
"When I was hungry, you gave Me food; when I was thirsty, you gave Me drink; when I was homeless, you gave Me a welcome; when I was ill-clad, you clothed Me; when I was sick, you visited Me; when I was in prison, you came to see Me… Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me." Matthew 25:35-36, 40 (WNT)
"Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in Heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in Heaven forgive your transgressions." Mark 11:25-26 (WEB)
"Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back." Luke 6:36-38 (NRSV)
[The woman that was forgiven in Luke 7:36-50 was known as a ‘notorious sinner,’ most likely a prostitute, with perhaps a criminal history as well. She knew her sins were egregious but to have them all forgiven, her slate wiped clean… how those words must have brought peace and quiet to her soul. For a person’s love and gratitude to God will be in proportion to the obligation that person feels to God for forgiveness. So if much is forgiven, you in turn feel much love and gratitude, like she did.]
"I tell you, her sins--and they are many--have been forgiven, so she has shown Me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love." Luke 7:47 (NLT)
"Be careful. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times turns again, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him." Luke 17:3-4 (WEB)
Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." Luke 23:34 (KJV)

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My Word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life." John 5:24 (NKJV)
He went on to say, "This is why I told you earlier that no one is capable of coming to Me on his own. You get to Me only as a gift from the Father." John 6:65 (The Message)
"If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36 (HNV)

"Blessed, and to be envied," he said, "are those whose sins are forgiven and put out of sight. Yes, what joy there is for anyone whose sins are no longer counted against him by the Lord." Romans 4:7-8 (TLB)

MountainsThe sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to be king over all, but all who will take God's gift of forgiveness and acquittal are kings of life because of this one Man, Jesus Christ… Adam caused many to be sinners because he disobeyed God, and Christ caused many to be made acceptable to God because He obeyed. The Ten Commandments were given so that all could see the extent of their failures to obey God's Laws. But the more we see our sinfulness, the more we see God's abounding grace forgiving us. Romans 5:17, 19-20 (TLB) [italics theirs]
Sin shall not be lord over you, since you are subjects not of Law, but of grace. Romans 6:14 (WNT)
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 (KJV)
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 (NRSV)
For He tells Moses: "I will show mercy to whom I show mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion. So then it does not depend on human will or effort, but on God who shows mercy." Romans 9:15-16 (HCSB)
Never pay back evil for evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honest clear through. Don't quarrel with anyone. Be at peace with everyone, just as much as possible. Dear friends, never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God, for He has said that He will repay those who deserve it. [Don't take the law into your own hands.] Romans 12:17-19 (TLB)
Our message is that God was making all human beings His friends through Christ. God did not keep an account of their sins, and He has given us the Message which tells how He makes them His friends. 2 Corinthians 5:19 (GNT)
Thanks be to God for His unspeakably precious gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15 (WNT)
Three times I appealed to the Lord about this, that it would leave me [a physical handicap, or "thorn in the flesh"], but He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness." So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:8-10 (NRSV)
[The less we have, the more we need to depend on the Lord.]
In Christ we are set free by the blood of His death, and so we have forgiveness of sins. How rich is God's grace, which He has given to us so fully and freely. Ephesians 1:7-8 (NCV™)

B and W Four CornersGod is rich in mercy because of His great love for us. We were dead because of our failures, but He made us alive together with Christ. (It is God's kindness that saved you.) God has brought us back to life together with Christ Jesus and has given us a position in Heaven with Him. Ephesians 2:4-6 (GOD’S WORD®)
He raised us up with Christ and gave us a seat with Him in the heavens. He did this for those in Christ Jesus so that for all future time He could show the very great riches of His grace by being kind to us in Christ Jesus. I mean that you have been saved by grace through believing. You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God. Ephesians 2:6-8 (NCV™)
Let all bitterness and all passionate feeling, all anger and loud insulting language, be unknown among you--and also every kind of malice. On the contrary learn to be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ has also forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31-32 (WNT)
God has purchased our freedom with His blood and has forgiven all our sins. Colossians 1:14 (NLT)
As God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Colossians 3:12-13 (NRSV)
Let us have confidence, then, and approach God's throne, where there is grace. There we will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it. Hebrews 4:16 (GNT)
"I will be merciful to their wrongdoings, and their sins I will remember no longer." Hebrews 8:12 (WNT)

For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. Hebrews 10:4 (KJV)
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8 (WEB)
But He gives more abundant grace, as is implied in His saying, "God sets Himself against the haughty, but to the lowly He gives grace." Submit therefore to God: resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you who are half-hearted towards God. James 4:6-8 (WNT)
Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Because of His great mercy He gave us new life by raising Jesus Christ from death. This fills us with a living hope, and so we look forward to possessing the rich blessings that God keeps for His people. He keeps them for you in Heaven, where they cannot decay or spoil or fade away. They are for you, who through faith are kept safe by God's power for the salvation which is ready to be revealed at the end of time. 1 Peter 1:3-5 (GNT)
Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous. 1 Peter 3:8 (NKJV)
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 (KJV)
I am writing this to you, my children, so that you will not sin; but if anyone does sin, we have someone who pleads with the Father on our behalf—Jesus Christ, the righteous One. And Christ Himself is the means by which our sins are forgiven, and not our sins only, but also the sins of everyone. 1 John 2:1-2 (GNT)
